Basically, you should sail around shallow spits of land, come in closer to the steep cliffs, and keep your distance from the capes because of the thermal turbulences. The iron rule: The land under the water looks like the land above the water, which means that if the land is flat going into the water, then the land under the water is also flat, whereas if the coastline is steep going into the water, so it will be below water level. You should keep away from narrow passages between two islands. Usually the depth of the water is insufficient for a sailing yacht. There is almost no tidal change in the Mediterranean – perhaps 20cm, which can be disregarded. The Balearic weather is caused by the large differences in altitude: if the water level climbs during a gentle breeze, be prepared for a stronger wind; if the water level sinks, expect calmer weather. All the vessels offered by ourselves are of course equipped with the required and complete safety equipment, such as life jackets, equal in number to the passengers allowed on the vessel, Liferaft/s, Distress flares, First aid boxes etc.

 

The price always includes crew, which for the smaller vessel consist of skipper and deckhand/s. Dependant on the size of the vessel the crew could also have stewardess/es, and cook. ( this information is contained in the individual yacht specifications)

 

Most vessels cruise the west and eastern med in the summer and spent the winter season in the Caribbean or Southsea. Further information can be found in the yacht specifications.

 

Fuel, mooring fees, transitlogs, food and comestibles for the guests and crew etc. are not included in the charter price. It is usual to pay a deposit up front from which these expenses will be paid. At the end of the charter a full account of the expenses incurred will be presented and monies due will be paid back to the charterer.

 

The use of all the yachts amenities is normally included in the charter price. These could be ( if present) Sauna, Jet-ski, Diving equipment and similar – if in doubt just ask.

 

Please note that the number of guests stated in the charter contract is not allowed to be exceeded.
